Below is a general disclosure document for all classes, with a fillable form at the right. For more information about specific classes and their special requirements and rules, visit the class pages in the menu under "Classes."
Rules Students will be expected to follow basic behavior guidelines they should have learned in kindergarten as well as the school-wide rules. Specific to my classroom and lab:
Students are expected to be in class, on time, every day unless otherwise excused by a parent or school staff. A student not in his/her seat when the bell stops ringing can be considered tardy. Four unexcused absences and/or tardies will result in a U citizenship grade, as per school policy. Hall Passes Each term, students receive two hall passes that they can use anytime during class. They can also use a hall pass to not be marked tardy, if needed. If a student needs to go in the hall but has no hall passes, participation points will be taken away. Some students will occasionally need to go in the halls to complete an assignment. Class-specific badges are used in those situations, but if a student is every caught goofing off in the halls, such privileges will be taken away indefinitely. Online Work Some of the work in my classes includes online tools. Students under 12 years old must obtain a parent or guardian's permission to use them. I take great care to make sure only the safest tools are used, but if, for any reason, you're uncomfortable with your student using a site, please contact me and we'll work out an alternate. Additionally, some of these sites contain some social features. I try to moderate these as much as possible, but if a student ever encounters bullying or inappropriate communications, he/she is encouraged to tell an adult immediately. (Basically, the same policy as with real-life interactions.) Grading

Students can also redo assignments as many times as they want, up until the term deadline. Rather than doing extra credit, students may simply complete missing work and/or redo work. Many assignments have built-in opportunities for extra points. |
